There are several different types of infections that your sheep can contract, ultimately resulting in lameness. Once you learn how to use CZF Plus on Sheep, you can better prevent your flock from these common diseases. They are as follows:

 

• Foot Root
• Scald
• Contagious Ovine Digital Dermatitis (CODD)
• Granuloma (Strawberry Foot)
• Whiteline & Shelly Hoof

How To Prepare A CZF Plus Footbath

First of all, know exactly how much water is going into your footbath. This is single handily the biggest mistake we see on farms. Ideally measure it out. The solution wants to be 10% for sheep. Any less and it will be less effective.

700-800 sheep can pass through before bath needs changing. (It doesn’t matter if the solution does a couple of days. It does not evaporate or lose its effective components).

Before using – Clean feet off best you can – (Run down the road, if straight off field)

Run them through footbath as slowly as you can.

Leave sheep to stand on a hard surface (5-15mins) to let the solution sink in.

Ideally do this for 2 consecutive days in a row, or even miss a day and do again on the 3rd day. You will see improvement after a week.

Once you have seen improvements, you can go down to once a week and then down to once a fortnight. Every farm is different so you’ll need to monitor your own situation.
